Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Toyota Land Cruiser BJ71 from 1987, with a 3.4L turbo-diesel engine
• Chassis and underbody fully painted and finished in ultra-durable Raptor coating
HISTORY/PRESENTATION:
Produced by Toyota, the Land Cruiser BJ71 from the 70 series is an iconic off-road vehicle renowned for its legendary ruggedness and its 3.4L direct-injection turbodiesel engine (13B-T).
Sporty and sought-after variant: the same short chassis as the BJ70, but equipped with the 13T-BT engine (direct injection + turbocharger).
What changes: It addresses the BJ70’s lack of power. It is one of the few vintage short-wheelbase chassis to combine a very compact footprint with dynamic response and immediately available torque.
This 1987 example has benefited from a substantial refurbishment by the seller, covering both bodywork and mechanics and undercarriage.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
The bodywork and paint have been restored.
New components: bumpers, running boards, windshield, lights and license-plate illuminator.
The chassis and the entire underbody have been treated and painted in an ultra-durable Raptor finish, without resorting to thick blaxon.
INTERIOR:
See photos
MECHANICS:
The ground connection and braking system have been completely overhauled with replacement of new parts: calipers, brake cylinders, high-pressure hoses, shock absorbers, leaf springs and steering ball joints (tie-rod ends).
Aluminium wheels
New tires.
The air conditioning circuit has a new radiator; however, a compressor service/rebuild remains to be planned.
The exhaust system is also new.
Oils changes for the engine, transmission and axles have been carried out.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle is supplied with its registration document (French 2-seat carte grise).
OTHER:
The vehicle can be viewed and collected by appointment.
Transport, shipping, ownership transfer or export fees are the buyer’s responsibility, unless otherwise stated.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
