Italian Ancient States - Parma 1859 - Sperati forgery of the 80 centesimi — Bistro, Provisional Government, Type C

Very rare era specimen of the 80 centesimi olive-bistre Government Provisional of Parma (original Sassone no. 17), an excellent and famous reproduction created by the renowned forger Jean de Sperati to defraud collectors.

On the reverse it bears the characteristic original blue/violet ink stamp "SPERATI REPRODUCTION" with handwriting number 122 (referring to the original matrix/plate). Excellent condition, fresh and without gum as is usual for this type.

The lot is accompanied by an Authentication Certificate and Guarantee signed by the philatelic expert Alberto Auteri (Taormina, 29/07/2025), which certifies its originality as an authentic Sperati fake and its perfect conservation status.
