MUSEUM sized sicoidal Calcite Specimen - Height: 14.4 cm - Width: 13.7 cm- 1437 g - (1)

A beautiful and huge calcite cluster from one of the mines surrounding the city of Daye. Featuring two overlapping discoidal calcite crystals with great glassy luster, good transparency, complex surface textures and a velvety finish on its back that displays some chatoyancy. The piece is a complete floater developed around a matrix fragment, and its composition appears greatly enhanced by the presence of an attached matrix fragment to the left side of the crystal in the back, which probably grew into it after the cluster was dislodged and continued the growth process.
