Description from the seller
1 magnum bottle CH9DP 2015 Beaucastel.
The 2015 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a powerful, elegant, and highly praised vintage crafted from all 13 traditional grape varieties allowed in the appellation.
Vintage Overview & Growing Season
• Weather: Mild, wet winter followed by a hot, dry spring and summer.
• Character: Balanced, fresh, and deeply structured despite the warm year.
Blend & Vinification
• Grape Varieties: Grenache (30%), Mourvèdre (30%), Counoise (10%), Syrah (10%), Roussanne (15%), Cinsault (5%), plus trace amounts of Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, and Bourboulenc.
• Aging: Vinified separately by variety (oak fermenters for Mourvèdre and Syrah; concrete tanks for others), then blended and aged for a year in traditional oak foudres.
Tasting Notes & Serving
• Aromas & Palates: Carmine-red color with rich black cherry, blue plum, dark raspberry, licorice, white pepper, and smoky mineral notes.
• Tannins: Powerful yet refined, leading to an extremely long, clean finish.
• Service: Best served around 15°C (59°F) with a recommended decanting if opened now.
• Aging Potential: Built to last, with peak drinking window extending gracefully through 2040+.
Critical Acclaim
• James Suckling: 97 points
• Wine Spectator: 97 points
• Robert Parker (Jeb Dunnuck / Wine Advocate): 96+ points
