Netherlands 1923 - NVPH 131 Fx in the rare short, wide image format - 11 copies known

NVPH 131 Fx, i.e. in the (very) rare short, wide image format of 34.0 x 18.1 mm. See attached page 54 of section A12 of the Handboek Postwaarden Nederland for the background of the different image formats.

With certificate Vleeming: "Seal with variety and perforation genuine, original gum with trace of removed hinge and gumless spots. Fresh seal without defects, nicely centered. Unused very rare stamp".

According to Mr. Vleeming, to date 11 unused specimens are known.

In the NVPH catalog of 2027 the rarity of the short, wide image format is finally acknowledged and the price has risen by no less than a factor 3 (which, incidentally, still seems undervalued, given the very small number of known specimens!).
