Where traditional center channels often use a horizontal dual woofer arrangement with a central tweeter (which leads to room-correction effects and a limited horizontal 'sweet spot'), Tannoy in this compact enclosure opts for pure phase coherence via the renowned Dual Concentric point-source technology. The titanium dome tweeter sits exactly in the acoustic heart of the central 7-inch driver. As a result, the sound radiates completely evenly and symmetrically, delivering an unparalleled open and natural dialogue intelligibility, regardless of the listening position in front of the screen.
On top of the enclosure sits the characteristic WideBand SuperTweeter in a molded aluminum housing, which extends linearly up to 51,000 Hz. This supertweeter provides exceptional airiness, micro-detail, and a spacious sense of space that comes into its own especially with high-quality multichannel audio and demanding film soundtracks. The speaker is internally heavily braced, magnetically shielded, and equipped with a high-quality bi-wiring terminal including Tannoy grounding terminal at the rear.
