An antique carved-wood flower column — Louis XV style — 19th century.
Elegant freestanding flower column or display pedestal, executed in solid hardwood with a warm tone, probably walnut or another fruitwood. Tall, slender structure, consisting of four curved and molded legs, ending in worked feet, joined by a second base or lower circular shelf.
The upper waist features carved and partially pierced decoration, composed of volutes, acanthus leaves, palmettes, and vegetal motifs. The circular top, slightly recessed, is surrounded by a broad carved frieze with stylized leaves.
A piece in Louis XV / Rococo revival taste, probably continental European production — possibly French or Belgian — dating to the late 19th century or the first decades of the 20th century.
No visible maker’s mark.
