Eucharistic monstrance with Agnus Dei and angels – silvered and gilded metal – 20th century
Refined and scenographic Eucharistic monstrance in silvered and gilded metal, an elegant example of 20th-century sacred art, characterized by rich Christian symbolism and a particularly decorative workmanship.
The circular case, the focal point of the composition, is adorned on the front with the golden representation of the Agnus Dei, depicted with the Cross, enclosed within a rich ornamental frame. The summit is topped by a small golden cross that accentuates the object’s vertical thrust.
Particularly striking is the supporting structure: an angel with wings spread supports the case, creating a harmonious and highly theatrical composition. The base, richly modeled, is decorated with heads of winged cherubs and decorative motifs, with a succession of details that bear testimony to the great attention given to the ornamental aspect of the work.
