Mazzano represents one of the most prestigious expressions of Masi's production: an Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG from the vineyard of the private Boscaini winery, historic cru of Valpolicella Classica. A wine of great personality, where power and elegance coexist.

The 2011 vintage fully expresses the richness of Amarone, obtained through the traditional withering of the grapes, which concentrates aromas and structure. The blend includes the main varieties of the denomination: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.

In the glass it presents an intense ruby red, with evolved nuances. The bouquet is broad and complex, with hints of ripe cherry, dark fruit, plum and spices and elegant balsamic notes, tobacco and evolved nuances. On the palate it is rich and deep, structured yet balanced, with mature tannins and a long persistence that confirms the wine’s aging vocation.

The 2011 vintage has earned important international recognitions, including 95/100 from James Suckling who rated it as a Amarone of great depth and complexity and Robert Parker who classified it with an Olympic 96/100. An old vintage particularly fascinating, capable of offering today a rich and important tasting.

Perfect with game, boeuf bourguignon, roasts, red meats and aged cheeses; also ideal for a thoughtful tasting, where the wine’s maturity can express itself fully in the glass.
