Description from the seller

Magnificent French character doll, made by the prestigious Jumeau house during the short eight-year production span of this model, which makes it today a piece particularly sought after by collectors.

Her porcelain head presents a superb alabaster complexion, flawless with no cracks or restorations. She features stunning deep blue “paperweight” eyes that give her remarkable expressiveness. Her delicate face is enhanced by a small open mouth showing her teeth, as well as pierced ears. Note: a slight porcelain loss on one earlobe, probably caused in the past by wearing an earring that was too tight.

The head is marked SFBJ, mold no. 230, and rests on a composition-bodied figure.

This ravishing doll wears a sumptuous costume entirely handmade by a passionate seamstress. The ensemble consists of an elegant frock coat, a matching skirt, and a charming coordinated hat. It is completed by her antique shoes and socks, perfectly harmonizing with her refined look.

She will be accompanied by a second outfit as well as her adorable little sable, further enhancing her charm and appeal to collectors.

Rare on the market, this elegant character doll will captivate lovers of fine old French dolls with the finesse of her features, the quality of her porcelain, and the richness of her presentation. A premier piece to enrich a Jumeau doll collection.
