This is the official Dutch national hallmark for second-quality silver, guaranteeing a fineness of 833/1000 (83.3% pure silver).
- The master mark (Left): This square stamp with the letters JH (or J.H) is the unique mark of the silversmith who made the spoon. This points to the well-known Dutch silversmith J.A. Hooykaas from Schoonhoven.
- The assay mark / Minerva head (Right): This is a circle containing the head of Minerva wearing a helmet.
