Germany – 1930s/40s – complete set with original leather case

The Galyt 4×40 model is a historical production of the prestigious German house Hensoldt Wetzlar, renowned for the quality of its optical instruments. The version presented corresponds to the model with an enlarged central hinge, first appearing from 1934.
Historical context – World War II
This model, marketed from the 1930s, belongs to a period covering notably World War II. Some documentation and collector references report the use of Galyt specimens in a military context during this period, amid high demand and shortages of optical instruments.
However, it should be noted that the military use of this exact specimen cannot be certified, in the absence of military markings or documented provenance.
This possibility nevertheless gives the set an additional historical interest, especially for enthusiasts of German optics.
