Tintin - 1 printing plate - 1930

Hergé – Tintin in the Land of the Soviets – Old typographic printing plate – approx. 1929
Rare metal printing plate representing the fifth panel of page 111 of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets, Tintin's very first adventure, published from 1929 in Le Petit Vingtième.
This piece directly testifies to the old printing techniques used at the end of the 1920s and the early 1930s. Illustrations destined for the press were reproduced by means of metal clichés fixed to a typographic support before going to press.
The plate measures approximately 8 × 8 cm, a dimension that is also found on some documented old clichés of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets.
