City map of Antwerp within the fortifications with many buildings shown in relief, on the right the citadel. In the foreground the Scheldt with ships and the Vlaams Hoofd. Orientation: East at the top.
Title in a fine cartouche with ornamentation bottom left: 'Antwerp, a strong, large and Beautiful city on ye River Scheld, in the dutchy of Brabant, subject to ye Queen of Hungary.' Left and right of the title legend 1-7 in four columns.
Top right a small inset map of the 'Marquisate of Antwerp Part of the Holy Roman Empire'.
Graveur was (bottom right): J. Basire sculp., issued (under the title): 'For Mr. Tindal's Continuation of Mr. Rapin's History of England'. Published in London, 1751.
Excellent condition, full sheet 42.2 x 51.5 cm with ample margins, not coloured, horizontal fold and three vertical folds as issued, verso blank.
