Afghan Kelim carpet in wool on wool, origin Afghanistan, model Afghaan Kelim - Gereinigd, measures 176 x 120 cm, from the late 20th century, one piece, in very good condition, certificate included.
Description from the seller
-- "100% woolen carpet with special motifs and colors - A jewel for every room - For the true connoisseur - In beautiful condition"
-- ca. 200,000 knots per m²
-- With Certificate
This is a handwoven Kelim carpet combined with knotting techniques, made from natural, sustainable materials. Imperfections in the patterns and the shape make this rug a unique piece and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character.
Kelims are often made of high-quality wool on a cotton or wool warp (weft). The patterns are often geometric and angular in shape. Each nomadic tribe has its own distinctive patterns.
Kelims are used as carpets, tent fabrics, or coverings and are excellent durable rugs with a long lifespan.
This concerns a virtually unused, clean rug that can be laid out as is.
Primary color: Cream/sand.
Accent colors: Reds and blues.
Special features: The weaving technique combined with knotting this rug creates notable height variation; rich abrash (intrinsic natural color differences); beautiful sheen.
