Mosasaurus specimen dating to the Late Cretaceous Maastrichtian (about 72–66 million years ago), with largely original bones and limited restoration, professionally mounted on a custom metal frame for display in museum quality condition.
Description from the seller
Impressive, largely original mosasaur fin (paddle), professionally mounted on a custom-made metal frame. A true museum piece that immediately stands out in any interior or collection.
The mosasaur was a large marine reptile that dominated the seas during the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian, ca. 72–66 million years ago). With its powerful paddle-like limbs, it belonged to the apex predators of its time. Fins of this size and completeness are rare: the many loose hand and finger bones (carpalia and phalanges) almost always become scattered after the carcass decomposes.
This fin was excavated in the famous phosphate deposits of the Oulad Abdoun Basin near Khouribga, Morocco — widely known as one of the richest localities for Late Cretaceous marine reptiles. The bones come from a single individual and are in very good condition, with the warm beige-brown color and well-preserved bone texture characteristic of this locality. As is customary for fossils from these layers, there is some limited restoration and stabilization; the fin consists largely of original fossil bone.
The bones are anatomically correctly arranged and professionally mounted on a custom-made metal frame with a plinth, allowing the piece to be displayed as a freestanding display.
Dimensions:
Fin: approx. 65 cm high × 35 cm wide
Including metal frame and plinth: approx. 70 cm high
Details:
Species: Mosasauridae (mosasaurus)

Mounting: professionally mounted on a custom-made metal frame with plinth
The piece is shipped with meticulous care and full insurance in a sturdy, custom-made package. Pickup is of course also possible.
A unique collectible and a museum-quality showpiece — ideal for the serious collector or as a spectacular interior piece.
