Historical-artistic description:
Exceptional center and living room side table from the full 19th century, a masterful example of high-era marquetry. The piece stands out for its fixed tray-shaped top, entirely veneered in a refined burl and embellished at the center with a sumptuous inlay in a symmetrical vegetal design inspired by Boulle.
The four serpentine legs ending in scrolls support a shaped frieze with a front drawer, decorated with elegant period bronze gilt fittings. The back construction with hand-planed thick boards and the species’ thickness confirm the piece’s absolute quality, originating from the refined furnishings of a historic Venetian noble residence. A rare piece of furniture, of great elegance and compact dimensions, perfect for collectors and exclusive interiors.
