Description from the seller
This telephone is an iconic vintage black-bakelite desk model branded Siemens O.L.A.P. Milan, dating roughly to the mid-20th century (produced between the 1940s and the 1960s).
This specific design, strongly inspired by the style of the famous German W 48 model, features a glossy slightly domed housing, a rotary dial for number selection, and the classic central fork on which the matching handset rests. The acronym O.L.A.P. refers to the historic Officine Lombarde Apparecchi di Precisione, which produced and assembled these devices in Italy under license or in collaboration with Siemens.
The row of numeric keys is fluent and fast, the white button, used at home to prevent listening in on others, is smooth-running.
This phone was used in a notary office for about 60 years; the bakelite is matte (can be polished to a gloss) but perfectly intact.
We have tested the phone with a modem using ADSL and mixed fiber and it works both inbound and outbound. We did not hear a ring because the current electrical supply is not strong enough to move the internal hammer. With appropriate modifications, however, made by experts, that can be achieved as well.
A phone for top collections or for industrial or commercial domestic environments that want to add a touch of antiquity to their corporate history.
WE DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY.
For the Islands we reserve the right to apply a surcharge for shipping costs possibly increased by the carriers.
