Description from the seller
Aston Martin DBR1
Magnificent lithograph / art print Aston Martin DBR1 - fine art
The Aston Martin DBR1 was a sports car built by Aston Martin from 1956 for the World Sports Car Championship and for sports car races that at the time were not part of the championship. It is especially known as the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959, the only direct victory for Aston Martin in the endurance classic. It is one of only three cars in the 1950s to win both the World Sports Car Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the same year. Moreover, the six victories in the World Sports Car Championship set a record for any car in the 1950s and remained a record in the championship. The three consecutive triumphs in 1959 at the Nürburgring, Le Mans and the Tourist Trophy equaled Ferrari 250TR’s record of three consecutive victories at the start of the 1958 season.

Fransman art (born in the Netherlands in 1972) is a contemporary artist whose work is strongly inspired by photography. Driven by a fascination for atmosphere, composition and memory, he translates photographic images into artworks that balance between realism and interpretation. His subjects range from iconic race cars and classic automobiles to exclusive watches and carefully chosen scenes that evoke the charm and elegance of bygone times.
Influenced by photography, Fransman creates works that feel like frozen moments from a larger story. Each artwork invites the viewer to pause and notice details, emotion, and the nostalgic power of the image. His oeuvre unites craftsmanship, aesthetics, and a love for objects and settings with a timeless character.
