Sojuz 12 USSR 1973 first day cover signed by V. G. Lazarev and O. G. Makarov, with certificate, originating from Russia, 1973, in MH condition.
Description from the seller
For sale: an interesting collectible from the Soviet spaceflight history:
Original Soyuz 12 first-day cover from the USSR, dated 1973, with the original signatures of the two cosmonauts
• Vasili Grigorjevich Lazarev (V. G. Lazarev) – Commander of Soyuz 12
• Oleg Grigorjevich Makarov (O. G. Makarov) – Pilot/Cosmonaut
The letter bears a Soyuz 12 special stamp as well as a Moscow first-day/special postmark.
Particularly interesting: The letter comes with the original certificate from the Soviet foreign trade organization “Mezhdunarodnaja Kniga,” Philatelic Department, Moscow. It explicitly confirms that the first-day letter was personally signed by cosmonauts Lazarev and Makarov.
Thus the provenance or signature of the item is contemporaneously documented.
The piece and the certificate are in age-appropriate condition. The certificate shows age- and storage-related creases. Please refer to the photos for the condition.
An interesting original for collectors of spaceflight, cosmonaut autographs, Soyuz, USSR/Soviet philately, and space mail.
