Jekyll and Hyde (Bang editions, 2021)
London, at the end of the 19th century.
The respectable and benevolent Dr Jekyll conducts secret experiments in his laboratory. Meanwhile the mysterious and malevolent Mr Hyde, who claims to be his protégé, sows terror in the city. Sir Utterson, Jekyll's loyal friend, troubled by certain details, wonders. How can two beings so radically opposed coexist under the same roof?
Tyto Alba deftly adapts all the darkness and complexity of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel, a major work of the 19th century between thriller and psychological essay.
After starting out as a painter, Tyto Alba became a illustrator for the press and for animation for several years before turning to comics. Tante Wussi (Steinkis 2017) La casa Azul which evokes Frida Kahlo (Vertige Graphic 2014) and La Vida which evokes Pablo Picasso (Vertige Graphic, 2016)
