Description from the seller

Opinel No. 08 Garden – Folding Knife – Stainless steel – Beech – France

Description

Opinel No. 08 Garden, a classic French folding knife produced in Savoy, practical and versatile, particularly suitable for gardening, harvesting and outdoor activities.

The blade measures 8.5 cm and is made from European-origin martensitic stainless steel, with a stated hardness of 55–57 HRC. This steel offers an excellent balance between cutting ability, wear resistance and corrosion protection.

The handle, 10.72 cm long, is made from PEFC-certified beech wood, a material traditionally used by Opinel for its sturdiness and lightness. The wood displays the characteristic light natural tone and is varnished to increase protection against moisture and dirt.

The knife features the famous Virobloc safety system, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The stainless steel ring allows the blade to be locked both in the open and in the closed position, increasing safety during use and transport.
