Six hand-blown uranium glass goblets from around 1900, France, about 12.5 cm high with a 6.7 cm diagonal and 6.2 cm base, showing green fluorescence under UV and no chips or cracks, with typical old-glass imperfections and varying weights totaling 1,173 g.
Description from the seller
nice clear glass cup that under normal light looks transparent. under UV light the glass shows a striking green fluorescence.
natural uranium glass. under UV light the glass fluoresces bright green due to the presence of a small amount of uranium oxide.
The glasses are mouth-blown into a goblet shape, after which hand knots and lines have been engraved on them.
The glasses are made of glass in which a portion of pure crystal was added; this often happened in the 19th century to give the glasses a nicer luster. At the same time, the purity levels were not as high as they are today. This can be seen by the small air bubbles in the glass.
All glasses differ in weight,
All glasses are in good condition, no cracks or chips.
Given their age, a small signs of use may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for antique glassware of more than 100 years.
