Description from the seller

Reliquary of Marguerite-Marie Alacoque and the Saints of the Visitation – 19th century

French oval reliquary from the 19th century, in its antique blackened wooden frame.

Under glass, a composition of gold- and blue-toned papers and metallic elements, enclosing several relics with their handwritten tituli, notably of Blessed Marguerite-Marie Alacoque, Saint Francis de Sales, and Saint Jeanne-Françoise de Chantal, three major figures of the Order of the Visitation.

On the back, an old handwritten label bears the note:

« From the Grove of Hazelnut Trees where Our Lady appeared to Blessed Marguerite Marie. »

This inscription ties the piece to an episode in Marguerite-Marie Alacoque's devotional tradition and reinforces its historical interest.

Good overall condition, with frame wear consistent with age.

This reliquary contains no human remains

The photos are an integral part of the object description and complement its presentation. They allow you to assess its condition and characteristics. Please examine them carefully before any commitment

The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.

Happy bidding

In accordance with canonical law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as a sacred art object. The relics it contains are not the subject of the transaction, but are included gratuitously for their historical and cultural value.
