Peruvian amazonite pendant in sterling silver setting, featuring a natural bluish-green cabochon with an elongated shape measuring 62 mm high, 16 mm wide and 6 mm deep, and a total weight of 10 g.
Description from the seller
Peruvian Amazonite — Silver pendant featuring a large natural amazonite cabochon, characterized by an elongated and sleek shape that particularly highlights the stone's internal structure. The amazonite displays an intense green-blue, turquoise and aquamarine coloration, crossed by subtle lighter variations that create a delicately striped pattern. The polished surface emphasizes the mineral's typical weave, with slight bands and color differences following the crystal structure of the stone. Amazonite is a green-blue variety of microcline, a mineral belonging to the potassium feldspar group. Its characteristic color is linked to the presence of trace elements and specific structural defects in the crystal lattice. This combination produces tones ranging from pale green to deep blue-green. In the cabochon, fine lines and lighter areas are clearly visible, giving depth to the surface without interrupting the overall uniform color. A small natural light-colored area present toward the lower end further testifies to the mineral origin of the stone. The silver setting precisely follows the elongated profile of the cabochon, keeping the color of the amazonite in the foreground. The tapered shape gives the jewelry an elegant and contemporary look, while at the same time maintaining a strong link with the natural character of the mineral. Material: natural amazonite Mineral group: Feldspars Species: Microcline Color: Green-blue / turquoise Setting: Silver Work: Polished cabochon Main feature: intense color with natural striped texture and internal color variations
