Content:
The work is structured in two parts.
The first presents the 115 fundamental urban rules illustrated by the author, each accompanied by a drawing and a reference to its city of origin.
The second part, divided into ten chapters, analyzes these rules from different angles — history of American zoning, the relationship between public and private interests, density, aesthetics, urban performance.
To demonstrate the universality of these rules, Lehnerer creates the fictitious city of Averuni, compiling regulations from cities in Europe, North America and Asia.
The work defends the thesis that urban regulations, far from being mere constraints, are cultural acts and design tools in their own right.
Will be shipped in careful, sturdy and traceable packaging.
