Description from the seller
Beautiful and characterful antique two-door sideboard (also called a toogkast or kapkast) in a sober Louis XV / Baroque style, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century (circa 1780-1830).
Made of solid high-quality oak with a warm, deep patina.
The cabinet features a wavy, profiled cornice (hood) and rests at the front on the distinctive, sturdy wooden bun feet.
The hardware and lock plates are fully original and period-appropriate.
Interior & Layout:
The interior is in excellent and usable condition.
The cabinet is equipped with a full shelf arrangement with sturdy, solid wooden shelves and a beautiful, original back panel of wide vertical sections.
Very unique and value-adding are the two hand-made interior drawers in the middle, ideal for storing smaller objects.
Transport & Assembly:
The cabinet is located in Nuenen where it can be picked up.
The cabinet is partially demountable as shown in the photos.
For transport the doors, the loose cap (hood) can be easily dismantled without tools.
This makes the cabinet, despite its heavy weight, easy to transport and place in any house.
Condition:
In good, very solid and immediately usable antique condition with minimal, age-related signs of use. No active woodworm.
The woodwork has a wonderful, authentic appearance.
There are two spots with a crack typical for its age.
