Description from the seller
Row of 3 antique cinema seats – wood and cast iron – around 1920 – numbered 14, 15 and 16
Magnificent row of three authentic old cinema/theatre seats dating from the 1920s. A characterful piece that immediately evokes the atmosphere of the early 20th-century entertainment venues.
The set combines beautiful red-bordeaux painted wood elements with a solid cream-painted cast-iron frame, featuring fine yellow/gold detailing. The three armchairs retain their charming numbering plaques 14, 15 and 16, reinforcing their authenticity and vintage aesthetic.
All three seats fold down and are complete and functional. The mechanisms allow raising and lowering the seats as in a real cinema.
With their patina and signs of age, these chairs have tremendous character.
The marks, small scratches, and paint wear visible in the photographs are consistent with their age and fully contribute to their charm.
Beyond their appeal as antique cinema furniture, these seats today serve as a superb decorative piece. In a house, loft, or apartment with a vintage or industrial vibe, they can become a striking central element of the decor. They would be perfect for setting up a small home cinema or private screening room, instantly bringing the authentic atmosphere of old cinema halls.
They can also find a place in a living room, entryway, office, bar, restaurant, hotel, boutique, or any space seeking original, storied décor.
The contrast between the burgundy red wood, cream cast iron, and gold-toned details, combined with the old numbering, gives them a particularly decorative presence.
