Belgium. Médaille commémorative consacrée à l'histoire bancaire et architecturale du Congo Belge (No reserve price)

Great commemorative medal dedicated to the banking and architectural history of the Belgian Congo, covering the period 1909–1959.

The medal features two architectural depictions accompanied by the inscriptions:

« MATADI 1909 »
and
« LÉOPOLDVILLE 1959 »

It thus commemorates half a century of history between the settlements of Matadi and Leopoldville, today Kinshasa.

The medal is presented in its original case.

A piece of particular interest for a collection devoted to Congo’s history, to the Belgian presence in Africa, to banking history, or to 20th-century commemorative medals.

Condition: good overall with an aged patina and some signs of age and handling. The case also shows marks of age.
