Groupe des Urbaine (tinplate lithography plaque 1955/65)

« Les Urbaine » designates a group of historic French insurance companies, whose origins date back to the 19th century.

Notably in the group's history one finds L’Urbaine, L’Urbaine-Incendie, and L’Urbaine et la Seine. The latter was already present in France and abroad by the end of the 19th century: for example, it opened an agency in Tunisia in 1890.

The Groupe des Urbaine is still attested in advertising documents from the 1960s, with the branches Fire – Accidents – Various Risks – Life.

In 1968, several companies of the Groupe des Urbaine were legally regrouped within the Union des Assurances de Paris (UAP).
