Each piece has the rectangular top, slightly overhanging, with a molded edge. Under the top, two full-width drawers. The fronts are mirrored: a recessed panel framed by a molded lip, still in mahogany, which draws a clean rectangle around each drawer. The same molding runs along the edge of the top. It is not inlay of different woods or colored veneers: it’s a frame in the same wood, raised, that lightens the front and gives the piece its traditional line.
