Description from the seller
Mid-Century Tableware in White Porcelain by Winterling Marktleuthen Bavaria - 23 Pieces
Refined and complete vintage table service for 6 people in fine white porcelain, produced by the renowned German manufactory Winterling Marktleuthen in Bavaria (Germany), dating from the 1950s-1960s.
The service is distinguished by an elegant Mid-Century Modern design, characterized by clean, slim forms. The pattern features a delicate organic graphic motif with wild herb stems and small stylized blossoms in shades of gray, sage green, and antique pink. Each piece is embellished with a very fine gilded rim along the edges. On the bottom of each item is the authentic green crown mark of the manufactory.
The set comprises a total of 23 pieces, including important serviceware pieces, distributed as follows with their respective measurements:
• 6 Dinner plates: Ø 24 cm
• 6 Cereal/soup plates: Ø 22 cm
• 6 Dessert/fruit plates: Ø 20 cm
Service items:
• 1 Large soup tureen with lid: Height 23 cm | Width 32 cm | Depth 24 cm
• 1 Large salad bowl / large bowl: Ø 24 cm | Height 7 cm
• 1 Large oval serving plate: Length 33 cm | Width 21 cm | Height 3.5 cm
• 1 Round serving plate: Ø 29 cm
• 1 Small oval serving plate / gravy boat: Length 24 cm | Width 14 cm
Conditions:
The service is in overall excellent vintage condition, well preserved. Only very slight defects due to the manufacturing of the era are noted (small cooking or application imperfections typical of the original production), which do not compromise its aesthetics but testify to its authenticity. Solid structure, with no evident cracks or chips."
Seller's Story
For over 20 years, I have dedicated myself passionately to the search for and trading of special, rare, curious objects from any era.
Every piece I select has something that catches my attention: it can be the shape, the story, the unusual aspect, or simply that detail that makes it unique.
I am always searching for objects that speak, that tell something to those who know how to listen.
I choose them carefully, photograph them honestly, and describe them as accurately as possible.
Selling on this Catawiki to share this passion with those who, like me, love to surround themselves with things with a soul.
