Ancient Greek Black Glazed Lekythos, a ceramic miniature terracotta vessel, 5.3 cm high and 5.2 cm wide, dating to the 5th century B.C., in very good condition.

Miniature terracotta squat lekythos featuring a bulbous body which tapers in to a cylindrical neck with a flared funnel-shaped mouth and a flat rim. A singular handle has been applied from the neck to the shoulder. The vessel sits upon a ring foot and has been finished with a black glaze. Beautiful iridescence can now be seen across the surface.

Provenance: Formerly collected in Avignon 60 years ago.
