Description from the seller
Splendid and rare art figurine in precious period porcelain titled The Fornarina, model number 71, entirely hand-made by the renowned master sculptor Luigi Fabris in his famed Milan workshop. The piece depicts a graceful dancer in a choreographic pose, elegantly enhanced by a refined dress decorated in gilt gold leaf applied with a small flame and featuring detailed inserts of porcelain lace on the bodice. On the base, the circular ground shows clearly and distinctly both the red enamel autograph signature “Fabris” and the distinctive authentic mark of the anchor with monogram, as well as the catalog number printed by hand. The object dates from the period between 1930 and 1940 and measures approximately 21 cm in height and 10.5 cm in diameter at the base. The overall condition is excellent and optimal for demanding collectors, as the structure is intact, free of fractures, chips, or prior restorations, even in the most delicate and fine areas such as the fingers and toes. The commercial appraisal price for this authentic porcelain artwork in the lot ranges from a minimum of 450 euros to a maximum of 650 euros, according to current Italian twentieth-century antique market quotations.
