Sculpture, Fauno danzante - 16 cm - Bronze

The figure represents a dancing faun, that is, a creature of the Dionysian court, characterized by its hybrid nature and surrender to dance. The body's posture is strongly dynamic: the pelvis is shifted to the side, the legs are crossed, and the torso makes a twist upward, while the two arms accentuate the movement.

Particularly interesting is the relationship between the verticality of the arms and the torsion of the torso: the entire composition seems to unfold along an ascending diagonal. This gives the small sculpture an impression of continuous movement, almost as if the faun were captured in a moment of the dance.
