Jewelry box by Erhard & Söhne.
The prestigious metalware company Erhard & Söhne was based in Schwäbisch Gmünd, a town in the German state of Baden-Württemberg (about 50 kilometers east of Stuttgart).
The company was founded there in 1844 by Carl Gottlieb Erhard and his two sons. The historic factory was located on Bocksgasse in the city centre.
Estimated period of the jewelry box: 1850-1900.  Material: brass                                        Barely used with minimal signs of use and aging given its age.
The lid features rich relief with angels, vines and ornamental decor.        The box is lined inside with wood.
Dimensions: 5 x 16.5 x 12 cm
Technique: brass casting with embossed decoration.

Het prestigieuze metaalwarenbedrijf Erhard & Söhne was gevestigd in Schwäbisch Gmünd, een stad in de Duitse deelstaat Baden-Württemberg (ongeveer 50 kilometer ten oosten van Stuttgart).
Het bedrijf werd daar in 1844 opgericht door Carl Gottlieb Erhard en zijn twee zonen. De historische fabriek bevond zich aan de Bocksgasse in het centrum van de stad.
Geschatte periode sieradenkist 1850-1900.  Materiaal: Messing                                       Nauwelijks gebruikt met minimale gebruikssporen en tekenen van ouderdom gezien de leeftijd.                                             
De deksel heeft een  rijkelijk reliëf met engelen, ranken en ornamentaal decor.        Het kistje is van binnen met hout bekleed.
