An antique professional device for optometry and vision testing, equipped with various mechanisms allowing the realization of visual tests. It has two observation openings as well as several sliding targets, including letters of different sizes and different symbols intended for testing visual acuity.
The device also includes a unit bearing the inscription “CHROMATEST”, with red and green colored filters, intended for different examinations of visual perception.
Robust construction in brass, glass and optical elements, typical of old professional optometry equipment. It shows signs of use, scratches and patina consistent with its age.
Estimated dating: around 1930-1950.
