Complete set of 12 collectible porcelain plates from the collection "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp" (Aladin und die Wunderlampe), designed by the renowned Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad for Rosenthal Studio-Linie, Germany, in the 1970s.
The full series tells in 12 scenes the tale of Aladdin from "One Thousand and One Nights":
1. Aladdin and the Magic Lamp
2. Aladdin plays with the street urchins
3. Aladdin meets the wizard
4. Aladdin imprisoned in the enchanted garden
5. The spirit of the ring brings Aladdin out of the garden
6. Aladdin sees the beautiful princess
7. The genie appears to Aladdin's mother
8. The mother brings the fruits to the Sultan
9. Aladdin rides toward the Sultan
10. The genie builds the castle
11. The marriage with the Sultan's daughter
12. And they lived happily ever after
Each plate is fine porcelain, multicolor decoration over glaze on an intense cobalt blue background with rich gold relief gilding and gold edge. Signature "Bjørn Wiinblad" in gold on the front. On the back green Rosenthal Studio-Linie Germany stamp + motive title handwritten.
