Description from the seller

Sony TC-K333 ESJ (Gold/Champagne) High-End Tape Deck (990 / 890)

I am offering a high-quality Sony TC-K333 ESJ tape deck from my collection of Japanese models. It dates from the 1993–1994 model year—the penultimate year of production.

This unit is best compared to the TC-K990 model from 1991/1992. However, the 990 lacks Dolby S, and the tape transport mechanism of the 333 features further detailed improvements. The following year (1994), the successor model TC-KA5 was no longer offered in our market; instead, only the TC-KA6 was available—a model positioned a tier lower (evident from the fact that it used only VFD display). In Japan, the TC-KA7 was also available; it represents the pinnacle of high-end cassette deck evolution—and is priceless today.

In my opinion, the TC-K333ESJ features a more attractive design than the TC-KA successor series and pairs perfectly with other components in the lineup, such as the ST-S770/707 tuner, the TA-F870 amplifier, the CDP-X555 CD player, etc.

As I wish to downsize my collection, I am offering it for sale here.
