Description from the seller
A classic and very stylish 3-piece French mantel clock / pendulum garniture, consisting of an impressive table clock and two accompanying onyx candlesticks on bronze feet. The clock is crafted from beautifully chiseled green onyx with warm red veining on the underside.
The case is exquisitely finished with ornaments, including a vase with handles at the top and lion’s paw/scroll feet at the base. The movement is made by the renowned French clockmaker Japy Frères & Cie (stamped with the famous Grande Médaille d'Honneur seal) and bears serial number 12314. The enameled dial is decorated with elegant cartouches and Roman and Arabic numerals with open-work hands. The pendulum stand is supplied including the original winding key.
Condition:
In good, working order. The movement and striking mechanism operate properly.
A note: The cast-iron/bronze decorative element right at the very top of the clock often shows a crack line (see detailed photo).
