Description from the seller
A Grand Cru from Treiso, Powerful, Austere, and of Immense Longevity
Signed by the renowned winery La Spinetta of the Rivetti family, Barbaresco Valeirano 2006 represents the highest expression of the Valeirano cru in Treiso. Situated at an altitude of about 450 meters with full-south exposure, this vineyard stands out for its calcareous and marly soils, capable of delivering a Barbaresco with a hard, mineral-driven structure, sharpened mineralogy and great aromatic complexity.
The 2006 vintage is recognized throughout Piedmont as a classic, monumental, long-aging vintage. Produced from sole Nebbiolo grapes from vines over 40 years old, vinified with careful wood management in barriques and bottled without filtration or fining, the 2006 is now in a phase of perfect expressive maturity, with notes of plum, black truffle, leather, tobacco and a deep, sculpted tannic texture.
Critics’ Scores International
Robert Parker (Wine Advocate): 95/100
Antonio Galloni (Vinous): 94/100
Wine Spectator: 93/100
Falstaff: 94/100
Storage Conditions & Bottle State
Liquid level: Perfect (to the neck).
Label & Capsule: Intact, perfectly preserved and defect-free (with the iconic Dürer rhinoceros).
Storage: Constantly kept in a professional cellar at a temperature (12°C - 14°C) and humidity-controlled environment.
