An Edwardian-era table clock from around 1900 in a mahogany case shaped like a gendarme’s hat, signed H. J. Linton Paris, with a low-tension slave movement, a 1-day power reserve, no striking, in good used condition with minor aging, and currently not in working order with no winding key.
Description from the seller
An Edwardian-era mantel clock from around 1900, shaped like a gendarme's hat, features an elegant solid mahogany case embellished with fine marquetry inlays and a delicate light-wood rosette inlaid. Its white enamel dial with Roman numerals bears the prestigious signature of H.J. Linton in Paris, a famous British luxury house based in Paris on Rue Feydeau that supplied high society.
The movement cage is patinated brass and in good condition.
The clock is in good overall condition; however, we do not have the key, it does not run, and it would benefit from a service.
