Veduta Panoramica con San Pietro '309. Rom.' is an uncoloured 130 × 170 mm map of Rome from Italy by an anonymous German mapmaker, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Panoramic and perspective view of the city of Rome, immortalized in its historic nineteenth-century charm before the great modern urban transformations.
The panorama stretches beyond the Roman countryside of the era, showing the dense urban fabric enriched with bell towers and domes, dominated in the background by the unmistakable silhouette of the Dome of St. Peter's. In the foreground stands out a natural frame finely detailed with tree-fringed hills animated by small figures and travelers, an iconography typical of the collections created for Grand Tour travelers.
The fineness of the line and the progressive numbering suggest its origin from a prestigious German or Central European art publication of the nineteenth century.
Excellent overall condition considering the object's age. Genuine antique paper with very slight signs of aging.
