The bells were historically significant products of Edwards Company, founded by Robert Edwards in 1872, a pioneer in fire alarm systems. The early examples are wall-mounted safety devices. The company also produced tubular bells designed by prominent figures such as Lurelle Guild and other signaling devices. Edwards’ old bells are popular among collectors of firefighters’ and rescue memorabilia due to their historical significance and innovative nature.
