Description
Elegant silver letter holder / correspondence rack, richly decorated with elaborate openwork ornamentation.
The front features a charming cherub (putto) holding a bow and arrow, surrounded by scrolling foliage, flowers and Rococo-inspired motifs. The decorative composition is particularly detailed, with pierced work creating an attractive sense of depth.
The holder stands on four ornate scrolling feet and incorporates several slanted compartments, allowing letters, cards or correspondence to be organised and displayed.
Visible hallmarks are present on the piece, as shown in the photographs.
