Splendid and elegant antique bed set (1940s), expression of the highest Italian artisanal tradition of handmade linen. The set is entirely crocheted in filet geometric lace, made completely by hand in Murano (Venice) and consists of a bedspread and two coordinating pillow shams, crafted from white pure cotton yarn of medium thickness, extremely stable and substantial.
The bedspread is composed of no fewer than 1184 circular motifs with floral patterns (stylized roses/daisies) geometrically joined by crochet. It measures 295 cm in length by 215 cm in width. It is complemented by two pillow shams, each made up of 108 floral motifs identical to those on the blanket; dimensions: 80 cm x 55 cm.
Total weight of the lot: 2394 grams (testifying to the density and quality of the thread of the era).
It has been preserved for over 90 years in impeccable condition and is truly beautiful, precious, and suitable for any decor (in addition, of course, to being a small collection masterpiece).
