Marten Toonder Studio's - 1 Original drawing - Tom Poes en Heer Bommel en de anderen maken een treinreis - jaren 1970

On December 1, 2010 the cultural heritage of Marten Toonder (all the work that Marten Toonder himself produced) was officially transferred by the heirs to the Letterkundig Museum Leiden and since then thus the property of the Dutch State. In November 2018 the archive of Marten Toonder Studios was donated to the Literature Museum in The Hague and the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam. See the last photo. Due to the developments above it is ruled out that from this estate any original works by Marten Toonder himself and Marten Toonder Studios, in addition to the material already circulating, will be offered on the market.

Comic artist Frits Godhelp (1927-2009) was from January 11, 1943 for almost 50 years (!!) connected to Marten Toonder's company. He contributed to several strips, such as Tom Poes, Panda, Koning Hollewijn, Kappie, and Olle Kapoen. For Tom Poes Weekblad he created some of his own strips, such as "Bas en van der Pluim". Godhelp was one of the few illustrators in permanent service at the studios. Until the early 1990s he worked at Toonder Studios with colleagues including Hans Kresse, Piet Wijn, Ben van 't Klooster, Ben van Voorn, Jaap Lamberton, Wim Lensen and Richard Klokkers.

This lot contains a beautiful drawing from Marten Toonder Studios' star Frits Godhelp, featuring a train steered by Wammes Waggel. Marten Toonder Studios made this beautiful drawing sometime in the mid-1980s. The drawing is signed lower right. Original work with Tom Poes & Heer Bommel by Toonder's right-hand man Frits Godhelp is very rare and is seldom offered.

Also see the photos that give an honest view of what is offered.

This beautiful drawing will be well packaged and sent to the new owner by registered post.
