Substantial small-cabinet specimen of rubellite tourmaline crystals on quartz/pegmatite matrix from Manapa, Anosiarivo Manapa, Betafo, Vakinankaratra, Madagascar, with numerous crystals up to about 3.3 cm and overall dimensions of 7.8 × 9.7 × 3.6 cm.
Description from the seller
An exceptional *AND RARE* cabinet-sized specimen covered with rich raspberry-red rubellite tourmaline crystals from the classic pegmatite locality of Manapa, Madagascar.
Numerous deeply colored rubellite crystals occur across the specimen, forming a dense, highly textured crystal assemblage over contrasting pale quartz matrix. Individual tourmaline crystals reach approximately 3.3 cm long and display strong longitudinal striations, glassy crystal surfaces, and remarkably vivid pink to deep raspberry-red coloration.
What makes this specimen particularly striking is the sheer abundance of tourmaline. Rather than a single isolated crystal, rubellite covers much of the matrix, producing an intense field of color that remains immediately visible even from a distance.
Creamy white quartz and associated pegmatite minerals provide attractive contrast throughout the specimen and highlight the saturated color of the tourmaline.
At nearly 10 cm across, this is a substantial small-cabinet specimen with excellent display presence and a wonderful example of Madagascar's famous gem-tourmaline mineralization.
