Rare stibnite crystals embedded in pink-fluorescent calcite from Manciano, Grosseto Province, Tuscany, Italy.
Description from the seller
From our selection of collectible minerals we propose a rare association of Stibnite with Calcite from Manciano, in the province of Grosseto, Tuscany.
Moreover, it features sharp acicular crystals of metallic-gray Stibnite, clearly visible and partially set in a white Calcite matrix that shows a lively pink fluorescence and red phosphorescence under UV lamp, which enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical significance.
The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact.
Stibnite is an antimony sulfide (Sb2S3) that typically crystallizes in long vertically striated prismatic forms, just as observed in this specimen. The Manciano area, in Grosseto, is historically known for antimoniferous mineralizations linked to the Tuscan hydrothermal activity. The Calcite fluorescence and phosphorescence are due to trace activator ions, such as manganese, which absorb UV radiation and re-emit it as visible light, sometimes with a persistent afterglow even after the lamp is turned off.
This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the field of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species.
All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always noted in the description. Photos are taken with professional lighting to best highlight colors and details; however, slight tonal variations may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
Shipping is carried out via reliable, handpicked express couriers, with fast delivery (in many cases 1-2 working days in Europe), tracked and insured shipping and professional and safe packaging, as confirmed by customer reviews. Deliveries can also take place the day after payment depending on the destination.
It is possible to accumulate multiple purchases and receive them in a single shipment, even from auctions with different deadlines, simply contact us to arrange the consolidation. For important pieces, direct home delivery by appointment or at major European fairs is also available.
