Description from the seller
Weekly Shōnen Jump No. 47 of 1989, the original Japanese edition published by Shueisha, with Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball on the cover.
A notably important issue in the Dragon Ball history as it contains chapter 247, “暗雲うずまくナメック星,” corresponding to the very first appearance of Freezer (Frieza) in the Dragon Ball manga and the beginning of his introduction in the Namek arc. Kanzenshuu +1
This is therefore the original Japanese publication of Freezer's first appearance, published in Weekly Shōnen Jump before later being collected in a bound volume.
The issue also features a superb Dragon Ball cover with Son Goku, Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan in space, as well as opening color pages dedicated to Dragon Ball.
The copy also retains its reader participation card/grid from the era, visible in the photographs.
Very good overall condition for a Japanese magazine from 1989, aged 37 years. The cover retains particularly vivid colors and the interior still presents very nice color pages. Some signs of aging and handling are naturally present.
An interesting piece for collectors of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, and Weekly Shōnen Jump, comparable in spirit to comic collectors for a issue containing the first appearance of a major character.
